Craiglockhart Hall

Craiglockhart Hall is one of six halls on Monro Hill. The location provides great views of Palmerston North. A homestead for the Monro family in the early 1900s, this is one of the oldest buildings on campus. Craiglockhart Hall is for female students only.

  • Single occupancy rooms, with shared bathrooms (bathroom to resident ratio 1:4), for 11 residents.
  • Suitable for female students aged 17 to 23 years.
  • Fully furnished. Residents can bring their own towels and bedding or purchase a bed-pack.
  • Common room with kitchenette.
  • A 10 minute walk to the Concourse and Student Central.

International students must pay all accommodation fees in full. Domestic students can pay the semester or full year fee on a weekly basis by direct debit.

Fully or partially catered. Meals are served at the Dining Hall on Concourse. Residents can eat there or take meals away. Student ID cards will need to be presented to receive meals.


Wireless internet is available throughout the hall.


Each bedroom has a heater.


Basic furniture is provided. Items that are not provided by the hall will need to be supplied by the residents. Each room comes with a single or king-single bed.


The Stables laundry has 24-hour access. Washing machines and dryers are available.


Secure car parking is available on campus for $120 per semester. A $20 bond is required for the access card, which is refunded when the card is returned.

Free bike racks are located around the exterior of the hall. Limited spaces are available for rent in a secure bike shed. The cost is $25.00 ($20 bond and $5 maintenance fee).

Bus service

Students can travel for free on the local Palmerston North bus service. Students must present their Massey student ID.

Ruahine computer lab

The Ruahine computer lab is located on the ground floor of the Ruahine Flats. This communal space is for all residents of the Moginie community. Facilities available include:

  • Fourteen computers
  • One printer
