Accommodation office contactsRotary and Kairanga Courts offer 4 bedroom apartment-style pods with fellow students. Each of these courts contains 15 pods and is set on campus.
Overview
- Fully furnished, single rooms within four-bedroom apartments for returning residents.
- Shared bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. Access to common room with kitchenette, computer lab and shared laundry.

- Internet/wifi in all rooms and common areas.
- Massey gym membership.
- Close to all student facilities including lecture theatres, the library and the Colombo Road public bus stop.
Rooms and furniture
All bedrooms in Rotary and Kairanga Courts are fully furnished, single, private rooms. Each has a window that can be opened, and a secure lockable door.
Each room includes:
- a king single bed and mattress
- wardrobe
- drawers
- desk, lamp and chair
- shelves, mirror and rubbish bin
- carpet and curtains
- heater.
Items you should bring
Along with clothing and personal items, you should also bring:
- bedding and towels (or you can purchase a bedding pack when you accept your offer of place)
- toiletries and toiletry bag
- coat hangers
- laundry basket
- laundry detergent
- cleaning products
- 3M hooks/tape or white tac, if you wish to hang anything on your wall (no tape, nails, screws or blu tac allowed).
You may also choose to bring a small fridge for your room, no larger than 45L, which must be put on a waterproof mat.
Bathrooms
Kairanga and Rotary Courts have shared gender-neutral bathrooms with showers, toilets, and sinks. There is one bathroom per four students. All toilets and showers are within self-contained private cubicles with lockable doors.
Self-catering
Kairanga and Rotary Courts are self-catered. Students can store food and prepare their meals in the shared apartment kitchen or the large communal kitchen.
There are a range of supermarkets in Palmerston North for students to purchase food from.
Communal spaces and shared facilities
Each pod has its own kitchen which comes equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, and oven, sink and microwave. The dining area has a table and chairs.
The central common room for all residents has sofas, a TV, kitchen, a toilet and computer lab.
A communal laundry is accessible 27/7 and has washing machines and dryers at a cost of $3 per wash and $3 per dry.
Alcohol
Students are allowed to store some forms of alcohol in Kairanga and Rotary Court and drink it in moderation within designated areas on set days and times.

You can prepay by semester or full year. Domestic students are also able to pay by direct debit on a weekly basis.
Payment options
Deposit
To secure your accommodation, you will need to pay a deposit by the date stated in your letter of offer.
The deposit is $764 for a full year or $724 for one semester.

To secure a refund of fees (the processing fee is non-refundable) cancellations must be received by:
- 1 December 2023 for returning halls residents
- 22 January 2024 for new hall residents.
The processing fee is non-refundable.

Your accommodation contract term must reflect your study programme – if your programme of study is for the full year you must apply for full year accommodation.
