Senior Hall

Massey Wellington's New Senior Hall will operate from 222 Willis Street. This hall is ideal for the senior student aged 20 years or above who are wanting a more independent community living environment.  The hall is set up as shared apartment living and is only 10 minutes from Massey's Wellington campus.  We may consider students from other tertiary institutions, this will be at the discretion of the Manager, as we want to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our community.

  • Self-contained studios and two and four bedroom apartments, for 280 residents.
  • For 2 bedroom and studios, we offer a budget option where apartments face the internal atrium.
  • Furnished with essentials. All rooms have single beds. Residents are to bring their own towels and bedding.
  • Suitable for students aged from 20 years.
  • Large common rooms, movie room, barbecue area, study room and atriums.
  • Single and mixed gender apartments available.
  • Very close to CBD, easy access to campus and transport.

Please note: Room rates include the deposit and the cost of reasonable electricity use. Residents who use an excessive amount of electricity will pay the extra cost.

  • Application and processing fee: $100.00 (non-refundable)
  • Activity fee: $120.00 (full year) $90.00 (semester)
  • Bond: $600.00 (held until contract ends)
  • Internet: $400.00 (full year)
  • Mattress protector: $16.00 (use is mandatory)
  • Room pack: $260.00 (single room) for international students only 

PAYMENT OPTIONS

International students must pay all accommodation fees in full. Domestic students can choose from three payment options:

A.     Deposit + One Payment for the year

B.     Deposit + Four Payments for the year

C.     Deposit + Lump Payment + 36 Weekly Payments

Support

  • Seven residential staff are on-site to provide pastoral care.
  • Activities and events are held throughout the year, including weekly floor events. 
  • Social sports leagues run weekly during semester.
  • Accommodation is available for residents with accessibility requirements.

Facilities

Catering

Self-catered. Residents cook their own meals in their accommodation.

Tussock meal packages

Meal packages are available from the campus café, Tussock. Residents can eat there or take meals away. Student ID cards will need to be presented to receive meals. Meal package credit can be used at the Pyramid and Museum cafés, however they only offer a limited menu.

  • $50 credit accrued per week from orientation week.
  • Credit accrues during study weeks only and expires on the last exam day of the year/semester.

Wifi is available throughout the buildings.

Heating

All apartments have heating in common lounge.

Furniture

Basic furniture is provided. Items that are not provided by the hall will need to be supplied by the residents.

Laundry

04 Laundries are located throughout the building, machines are equipped to take eftpos payments.

Parking

There is very limited parking available on site. To enquiry about parking contact the accommodation office.

Bike storage is available at a cost of $60 for 42 weeks of storage. Spaces are limited so contact our team to secure a space before you arrive.
