Yoga is a great way to gently introduce physical activity to your life. As well as reducing stress, it can help alleviate discomfort related to lack of flexibility or repetitive movement.
Physical activity contributes to stress reduction, improves the ability to sleep, memory and concentration.
Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses. Also sometimes called "Vinyasa Flow Yoga," this type of practice involves synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures.
Yoga takes place in the Massey Recreation Centre Dojo Room on Monday's at 6pm and runs for approximately 50 minutes. Mats are available or you are welcome to bring your own. It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in and you may like to bring some extra layers so you stay warm for the relaxation phase of the session.

"I've tried all the different yoga classes in Palmerston North. I found them so frustrating - they were just a relaxing stretch to music with no attention to breathing or the intended effect of poses on the body - until I found Ambika. Ambika teaches a modified vinyasa/ashtanga class. She will correct you and help you understand and improve your yoga practice. It's not just about touching your toes or whatever, but what muscles you should be feeling and where it should be coming from. That and a bit of hard work and you will be doing advanced poses in no time!"
