We recommend all postgraduate and undergraduate students attend semester two orientation. There will be lots of events and workshops at our Manawatū campus.

Sunday 12 July


Halls check-in

Check into your hall of residence before being guided around your new home. Residential Assistants (RAs) will be your tour guides, and available to answer any questions you may have.

Welcome dinner for new halls of residence students

Come along and meet your residential assistants and new hall mates for Semester Two. Nobody wants to cook dinner after a long day of travelling and moving, so let us take care of that for you. Use this time to eat, relax and take some time for yourself. Please note this dinner is only for new halls of residence students in Semester Two. RSVP HERE.

PaCE academic orientation

Compulsory attendance for all new students currently based in New Zealand enrolled in the following qualifications:

Certificate in Foundation Studies (CFS) / Certificate of University Preparation (CUP) / Foundation Certificate in Academic English (DEEP) / Foundation Certificate in Advanced Academic English (AdvDEEP). RSVP HERE.

Free group fitness taster session

Thinking about joining the gym, or whether group fitness is for you? A chance to try 15-20 minutes of Les Mills BodyStep, CXWorx and BodyBalance all in the one class!

Massey 101 & Campus tour

Hear from your Massey Guides (current students) about the things they wish they knew, how to get involved and advice you need to thrive in your first semester at University. They'll give you all the insider tips about being a student in Palmy and answer any questions you may have. We'll also discuss our current and potential future Covid-19 situation and answer any questions you may have around blended learning, different way of working, health & well-being, support services, etc. Then, take a tour around campus with our Massey Guides and discover where the essential places and services are that you need to know about. Hop on the bus and take a tour around the 'ins and outs' of Palmy, including local markets and the Esplanade. There will be a stop at our local mall - The Plaza - to purchase any necessities you may need (there is also a supermarket on-site) Please note: This is a first on the bus until full tour.
