
Get ready for your study with our New to MU programme. Starting university is exciting but it can also be a bit daunting so our New to MU programme is here to help you get ready. There are several different ways you can prepare for your learning journey include some in-person and online opportunities.
Welcome to where you belong! Get ahead by joining any one of our events aimed at making your transition to Massey University as smooth as possible.
19 January to 12 February
Come and see us in person when Massey comes to a city near you this summer. Getting on Track is a great opportunity for you to meet with a number of Massey staff who can check your enrolment, help you set yourself up for online learning and tell you all about how to stay connected at a distance.

25 January to 28 February
Join staff and current students on our online learning community called Stream. Getting Started is your interactive guide to starting University with new content added each week. It is for both online and on-campus students and includes videos with tips from Massey students, easy to use academic resources, personalised study advice and opportunities to engage and ask questions online.
An email will be sent to all new students in January inviting you to join the site.
13 February, 10 am
Attend our welcome for all new online students to the Massey whānau. At this live event, which will later be available on demand, we will formally welcome you to your journey with Massey University and share information about the services you can access as a student. You will hear about life as an online student, the opportunities available over the coming weeks to meet other members of the distance students community and there will be a live chat function to ask any last minute questions.
17 February to 19 February
On-campus orientation is our opportunity to welcome all new on-campus students to the Massey whānau. Over these three days we will formally welcome you to your journey with Massey University and share information about services you can access as a student. You will get further information about student life, lots of opportunities to meet other new students and our Massey Guides will be there to answer any questions you might have.
International students need to attend an additional compulsory session on Thursday 18 February to hear about particular requirements and support. You should also read the International Student Support pages.
More information about the sessions held as part of on-campus orientation will be published in late January.
Get ready for distance study by planning your workload, learning to use Stream and connecting with other Massey students.
Before arriving on campus there are some important tasks you can complete.
Starting university and settling in to study routines can take a little bit of time.
