Outbound Exchanges during Semester 2

Massey University is following government advice on COVID-19 and monitoring changes to insurance policies as we plan for exchanges during Semester 2.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends “New Zealanders currently travelling overseas to consider returning home.” Massey University leadership has reviewed this guidance and is allowing planning for Semester 2 exchanges to continue at this time.

Massey University may cancel Semester 2 exchanges if the New Zealand government's guidance on international travel becomes more restrictive.

30 April is our deadline to make a final decision about whether Semester 2 exchanges will be allowed.

Our advice regarding Semester 2 exchanges includes:

  • Submit your application or continue planning for your exchange during Semester 2.
  • Monitor the COVID-19 situation in your destination country and contact us if you have any concerns.
  • Do not accept an Offer of Place from your host university or spend any money on exchange-related costs, such as for accommodation or flights, before 30 April.
  • Continue with your enrolment in courses you would take at Massey during Semester 2 if you are not able to go on your intended exchange.
