Massey University has dedicated services and facilities for our Pacific students and staff, such as community fale, health and wellbeing services, and student associations.

Pacific student fale

All Massey campuses – Auckland, Manawatū (in Palmerston North) and Wellington – have a designated community space for Pacific students to study, meet and relax in, and to connect with our Pacific staff.

Each fale has a study area, a lounge and a place to prepare and eat food and drink.

The Auckland and Wellington Pacific student spaces are accessible using a free access card and are available to all students through ITS.

Fale locations and facilities

Auckland campus

  • Fale Manaaki: SC.105, Pacific Fale, Auckland campus
    Fale Manaaki has a kitchen with tea, coffee and Milo provided, and a computer and study area.
  • Pacific & Māori Room: 3.17, Level 3, North Shore Library Building, School of Psychology
    This space is available for psychology students in the Albany village.

Manawatū campus

  • Fale Pacific: YFC Building, Rehab Road
    Fale Pacific has a computer lab with free wifi and printing, a study and meeting space, cooking and tea facilities, as well as showers. It can be accessed through the Matai carpark.

Wellington campus

  • Fale Bilong Iumi: 9B11
    Fale Bilong Iumi has a quiet study space, computers for student use and a printer available at a cost. There is also a lounge where students can relax and connect and a kitchen with free tea, coffee and Milo.

Support, health and counselling services

Massey University has a range of support services relating to health, wellbeing and spiritual support.

We encourage our Pacific students to make use of these services if needed – for example, if you are feeling stressed about your study, the workload, a family bereavement or another personal matter.
