Wildfire Special Issue in the Media
The extensive wildfires in the Nelson region in February 2019, along with increasing prevalence of wildfires in Australia and the United States has attracted media attention to our latest issue published in December 2018.
Volume 22, Port Hills Wildfire Special Issue focuses on wildfires experienced in the rural-urban interface of the Port Hills adjoining the city of Christchurch, Canterbury in February 2017. News items listed below draw information from the papers published in this issue.
An earlier issue of the Australasian Journal of Disaster and Trauma Studies (Volume 2008-2), published just before the disastrous Black Saturday Australian wildfires of February 2009, was also dedicated to wildfires and social aspects of their management.
