Registrations are now open for the muddiest 2.5km obstacle course on the North Shore, with the Mud Monster Mud Rush back for the second year on Massey’s Auckland campus.

Now in its fifth consecutive year and organised by Harbour Sport, the Mud Rush returns September 9 and 10 and is sure to be another weekend full of muddy fun. After the huge success of Massey University hosting last year’s event, Harbour Sport is excited about the 2017 edition returning to the campus and working with Massey to create another iconic event for the North Shore.

Last year more than 1800 participants climbed, crawled and sloshed their way through the course, and for the first time since the event’s inception the majority of these participants were families running the course together.

This year's Mud Rush takes place on September 9th and 10th.

Auckland Campus Registrar Andrea Davies says Massey is thrilled to be back on board. “Last year’s event was a huge success. We can’t wait to host the Mud Rush again, and open the University up to the community for a bit of fun. It’s lovely to see families enjoying our beautiful campus, and we hope students and staff will take the opportunity to get covered in mud too.”

With Harbour Sport’s strong focus on promoting healthy active lifestyles for children and families, the Mud Monster Mud Rush provides an opportunity for participants to let loose and have fun while engaging in physical activity, with no pressure of competition.

Harbour Sport chief executive Toni-Maree Carnie says, “Harbour Sport are all about inspiring, empowering and strengthening communities through sport and physical activity and this event fits perfectly with one of our roles in the community. We want to encourage people to be more active, more often, and the Mud Monster Mud Rush does just that, and getting covered in mud is a great bonus!”

Registrations are now open for the early bird rate of $30 per person. For more information and to register, click here.
