Since the inception of Massey University there has been a strong emphasis on research and nutritional analysis, leading to the foundation of the Nutrition Laboratory in 1985. As a research unit working within the Institute of Food , Nutrition and Human Health the Nutrition Laboratory is recognised both in New Zealand and internationally for its expertise in a wide range of analyses including amino acids profiles.
Quality data is of great importance to us; we participate in international proficiency programs AAFCO (USA) and RCPA (Australia) and follow a rigid quality control program with the use of intra-laboratory checks and calibration standards.
The use of recognized methodology from AOAC, FDA and other regulatory agencies ensures that standard procedures are followed.
