2013 programme fees

This is a guide to help you get a quick estimate of the fees for your programme for 2013. The figures supplied will also assist you in making fair cost comparisons between programmes and institutions.

The fees calculated below are based on one year of full-time study (120 credits). Where you are enrolled part-time or in a programme of more or less credits (for example the Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Primary) - 156 credits) the actual tuition fee is calculated on the basis of fees for each paper.

There are compulsory non-tuition fees payable on enrolment in addition to your tuition fees. Charges for incidentals, i.e. study resources, software, trips and contact courses may also be applicable to your programme.

Different rates apply for New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, and International students.

Please note: Fees will be finalised on confirmation of enrolment. Non-tuition fees and other programme related fees may be payable according to your specific programme enrolment circumstances. After your enrolment is confirmed the University will invoice you for the exact fees due. The actual fees you pay are calculated by adding up the tuition fees for each of your approved papers, together with the non-tuition fees (such as admission, examination and enrolment fees) that are relevant to your situation.

These examples indicate the (GST inclusive) tuition fees for New Zealand citizens or permanent residents for a selection of typical undergraduate programmes.

International undergraduate fees

These examples indicate the (GST inclusive) tuition fees for International students for a selection of typical undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate fees

The tables below outline the (GST inclusive) tuition fees you can expect to pay for a selection of postgraduate programmes in 2013. The fee will vary between taught and research components. These figures include fees for:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
• Named Doctorates*

These examples indicate the (GST inclusive) tuition fees for international students for a selection of typical programmes*.

* New International students enrolling for the first time in a PhD Programme of study in 2013 may be eligible to pay domestic postgraduate research fees. To be eligible, students are required to meet conditions outlined in the Handbook for Doctoral Study, including being domiciled in New Zealand for the duration of their Doctoral candidature.
