Introduction
The bursary was established in 2014, and is financed by Colliers International New Zealand Limited. The initial term of the bursary will be 3 years, with the first award in 2015, for payment in 2016.

Colliers International offers the bursary to encourage excellence in real estate studies, and to support students contemplating a career in commercial real estate, specialising in professional or transactional services.

The bursary is set up to commemorate Marcus Kitt, a long serving member of Colliers staff and a previous student of Massey University.

Regulations
1.The bursary will be known as the Marcus Kitt /Colliers International Bursary.

2.One bursary will be awarded annually, and will be to the value of $5,000.

3.To be paid the bursary, students must be enrolled full time in the Bachelor of Business studies Valuation and Property Management major degree, at the Albany campus.

4.The bursary is tenable to students who are NZ citizens, or permanent residents of NZ.

5.The basis of selection will be: academic merit as determined by academic results in year 1 and year 2 studies, communication and interpersonal skills, and potential to succeed in the property profession.

6.Short-listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview.

7.The bursary can be applied for by students in the second year of study.

8.The bursary will be awarded by the Chairperson of the Scholarships committee (or their nominee) a representative of Colliers International, a representative of the Academic staff, and a representative of the Kitt family.

9.The bursary will be paid in 2 instalments, one in the first semester, one in the second semester.

10.The Scholarships Committee, in consultation with the Colliers International New Zealand Ltd has the power to terminate or suspend a Scholarship, if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a Scholar from the Head of the Academic Unit in which the recipient is enrolled.

11.Applications for the bursary will close on 15 October in the year preceding the award.

12.Vacation or part time work at Colliers International may be available to bursary recipients.

All applications are acknowledged by email.

Applications will NOT be accepted more than 3 months in advance of the closing date.
