Agcarm (New Zealand Association for Animal Health and Crop Protection) is the non-profit trade association of companies which manufacture, distribute and sell products that keep crops thriving and animals healthy. Member companies are committed to ensuring that these products are used safely, effectively and sustainably.
Animal health and crop protection products are used to protect public health, improve animal welfare and to assist in environmental management. They play a pivotal role in the high yield, sustainable production of food and fibre which not only provides a bountiful supply of wholesome, nutritional and affordable food, but keeps New Zealand agriculture, horticulture and forestry internationally competitive.
This Scholarship shall be available to New Zealand Citizens and Permanent Residents studying full time in Third year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Criteria for assessment will include academic record (B Grade average), curriculum vitae, written references, personal statement and essay outlining "The significance of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry to veterinary science".
The Scholarship shall be awarded annually and shall have a value of $2,500.
The Selection Committee may refrain from a making the award if there is not an applicant of sufficient merit.
The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards/scholarships.
The Scholarship shall be awarded based on the applications received from BVSc Year 3 students by a selection panel from New Zealand Association for Animal Health and Crop Protection (AGCARM).
Applicants are to complete the application form and are to attach:
-A personal statement on why you deserve to be awarded this scholarship and what you intend to spend the scholarship on
-An essay on "The significance of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry to veterinary science" (1,000 words).
-Two written references
Applications close 31 March.
All applications are acknowledged by email.
