This bursary is intended to assist undergraduate and postgraduate students studying papers in semester three of any academic year, or postgraduate research students enrolled for a thesis of 90 credits or more. Priority will be given to students who can demonstrate that they are suffering hardship or unforeseen changes in their financial circumstances during an existing programme of study.
The Summer Study bursary shall have a value of up to $3,000 per annum and be awarded as funds permit.
The bursary is open to New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents who are part-time or full-time students of Massey University, who are enrolled internally or extramurally for the summer semester, studying at any of the Massey University campuses, and who will have completed a minimum of 120 credits of study at the completion of Semester 2 in the year of application.
Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial hardship, and who also have a record of academic success in their studies to date. Applications must be supported by a supervisor, HOD or other academic mentor who is familiar with the applicant's circumstances and academic performance. In recommending the award of a Bursary the University Scholarships Committee will take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicant with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of monies among qualifying candidates.
The bursary shall be awarded by the Scholarships Committee.
