The French Ministry of Education offers awards annually to New Zealand teachers and students of French who wish to take up positions as Assistants in French secondary schools. The cost of travel to and from France/New Caledonia/French Polynesia is to be borne by the applicant. Salaries vary according to the country's cost of living. Candidates must be New Zealand Citizens under 30 years of age. Preference will be given to applicants having a Bachelors degree with a French major.
Applications close with the Scholarships Office of the applicant's own university on 31 August.
(a)French Language and Literature Study/Research/Training Award
Students of French (at honours level and above) and to French Department academic staff, preferably under 30 years of age, holding a current New Zealand passport.
(b)Fine Arts, Music, Film Making and Journalism Study/Research/Training Award
Students holding a current New Zealand passport who want to study in a recognised French institution.
(c)Science Study Research Award
New Zealand students (at honours level and above), whose research project is part of an on-going co-operation programme between France and New Zealand.
Applications (for scholarships only) must be addressed by 31 August directly to: Services Culturels, French Embassy, Box 53, Wellington. Full regulations and application forms are available from the French Embassy.
Application cannot be accepted before 31/05/2018.
