Our students have plenty of scope to find and discover their passions by selecting from a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We offer unique programmes, flexible undergraduate and postgraduate study and teaching excellence.
Programmes are the qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees) that you can study at Massey. Programmes are made up of papers.
We are characterised by the applied nature of many of our teaching and research programmes and papers. Massey offers:
Wherever you choose to study, you will be able to access a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They cover everything from education to humanities and social sciences, to sciences and engineering, to arts and business.
Massey has been offering distance learning since 1960. Since then, our Massey distance courses have allowed more than a quarter of a million New Zealanders to increase their knowledge, re-train or broaden their career options through distance learning. Our experience in distance learning, and the services and delivery modes we've developed, will help to ensure you succeed.
Massey is organised into five colleges: the College of Business; the College of Creative Arts; the College of Health; the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; and the College of Sciences.
Massey University has over 30 institutes, schools, departments and centres within its five colleges. Each institute, school and department focuses on a unique range of related subject areas.
Our teaching timetable lists papers offered internally, with the day, time and place scheduled for undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Our students generally sit exams during June (Semester One), November (Semester Two) and February (Summer School). We provide a range of information to assist students to prepare for their exams. We also publish exam results and grades online as they become available.
Stream is the University's online learning environment. Massey is committed to providing an exceptional and distinctive learning experience for all students, and Stream is central to achieving this goal. The term Stream has been adopted as a metaphor for knowledge: always flowing and moving, the stream runs at different speeds, directions and strengths. The stream feeds its surroundings and provides life to everyone, as does life-long learning and knowledge transfer, creating a rich and vibrant learning environment. Most papers are supported by Stream, and online paper guides, activities and study resources can normally be accessed through Stream from two weeks before the start of the semester.
Massey provides an academic learning support service that helps students to succeed in their university study. Student learning services are available online and at all three campuses. Consultations are confidential and open to all Massey students from first year to PhD students.
The Centres for Teaching and Learning provide a range of services and resources to enhance student success. Our staff are committed to supporting your study and we encourage students to take advantage of the excellent services we offer on each campus and virtually for our distance learners. The Centres also support academic staff to provide an exceptional and distinctive learning experience for all students by offering world-class research-led teaching development services.
