Manawatu Microscopy and Imaging Centre

The Manawatu Microscopy & Imaging Centre (MMIC) is a multi-user facility on Massey University's Turitea campus.  We provide researchers with the latest equipment needed for Transmitted Light and Fluorescence Microscopy [Widefield and Confocal], Electron Microscopy (TEM and SEM/EDS) and Image Analysis.

    Important Updates

    Due to the November 2016 earthquake, the TEM is currently unavailable
    Holiday Hours

    The MMIC will close for business on Tues, December 20, 2016 at 5PM. We will reopen on Wed Jan 4, 2017 at 8:30AM (light/confocal services)

    SEM services resume Monday January 9, 2017

    TEM Samples may continue to be dropped off until 3PM on Friday, December 16, 2016.

    If you have samples for TEM and want them embedded prior to the holiday break, they must be submitted before 2:30PM on Friday, Dec. 9. Any samples given to the MMIC after this time will remain in primary fixative until January 18, 2017.
