Research in the School of People and Planning is international and includes the Pacific, South and South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe as well as New Zealand. The scale of our work ranges from micro to global level.
We draw on a wide range of social science theories and methodologies. Historical methods also inform much of our work.
As well as empirical work involving data analysis, some of us do "ideas work". Here we write about theories and concepts, and use these to better understand the complex social and natural worlds that we inhabit.
