This group of archives includes general historical information and subject files.

B-3-1-3 Vice-Chancellor's correspondence

These correspondence files contain information relating to nearly every aspect of Massey University's activities from 1927 onwards.

J-2 Student interest and cultural clubs and societies

This inventory lists the records of student interest and cultural clubs and societies at Massey
University.

J-3 Student sports clubs

This inventory lists the records of student sports clubs at Massey University.

J-4 Hostels

This inventory lists the archival material of student hostels at Massey University.

K – Publications

This inventory lists general publications, such as brochures and leaflets, of Massey University.

L – Photographic and cartographic material

This lists a collection of photographs assembled by the University Archives from individual donations and other finds over the years. There are also postcards, greeting cards, maps and plans, and stamps.

M – Audiovisual material

M-1 Gramophone records

This inventory lists the collections of gramophone records held by the Massey University Archives, assembled over the years from various sources.

M-2 Film

A film collection consisting of a variety of reel films collected over the years from various sources. We have digital copies of some of these and other reel films not held by the archives.

M-3 Audio tapes

This inventory lists audio tape collections from Massey University, the Palmerston North College of Education, Wellington Polytechnic and the Robert Hoskins collection.

M-4 Video tapes

The archives’ own video collection consists of a variety of videos collected over the years from various sources. The Television Production Centre (TVPC) Video Collections consist of more than 800 video tapes, in a variety of formats.

M-6 CD collections

This inventory describes the compact disc collections held by the Massey University Archives. These include a variety of CDs produced by the Massey University College of Education Students’ Association (MUCESA) which primarily contain images of events, and examination papers.

M-7 DVD collections

This includes a variety of video recordings produced by the old Palmerston North Teachers’ College/College of Education and Massey University College of Education, the Massey University College of Education Students' Association and the Student Learning Centre on the Auckland Campus. There are also DVDs of Palmerston North Graduation.

N-1 – Institutions/organisations

N-1-3 PN University College

This group of archives represents the records, such as governance documents, correspondence, and teaching and research material, created by the Palmerston North University College (PNUC).

N-1-4 Council for development of University Education in Manawatu

This group of archives represents the records created by the Council for the Development of University Education in the Manawatu (1961 to 1962), such as governance documents.

N-1-5 NZ Federation of Graduate Women – North Shore Branch

This group of archives represents the records created by the New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women (North Shore Branch) (1966 to present). The collection is held at the Massey University Auckland Campus Library. It contains minutes, membership lists, newsletters, annual reports and correspondence.

N-1-7 Massey College Wool Association

This group of archives contains records created by the Massey Wool Association of New Zealand Inc (1948-), previously known as Massey College Wool Association.

N-1-8 Donkey and Mule Society of New Zealand Inc

The archives include various governance related papers, minutes, correspondence files, financial records, society publications, newspaper cuttings, photos, stud books and registers.

N-1-9 Perendale Sheep Society of New Zealand Inc

This group of archives contains records created by the Perendale Sheep Society of New Zealand Inc (1958-). This includes minute books which contain minutes, some correspondence, reports and newsletters of the society.

N-1-10 New Zealand Rhododendron Association Inc

This group of archives contains records created by the New Zealand Rhododendron Association Inc (NZRA) (1944-). These include the original (1944) registration application of the association and eight volumes of minute books which contain minutes, some correspondence, reports and newsletters of the association.

N-1-11 Australian and New Zealand Association for Medieval and Early Modern Studies

This archive consists of publications of Australian and New Zealand Association for Medieval and Early Modern Studies.

N-1-12 New Zealand Veterinary Association – Sheep Society

This group of archives contains material created by the New Zealand Veterinary Association including publications and minutes. The material in this collection has come to the archives from various sources. The collection is maintained for reference purposes and is not a complete archive of the association.

N-1-13 University of New Zealand

This is a collection of materials about the University and has come to the Archives from various sources. The collection is maintained for historical and reference purposes. It includes minutes and meeting documents and publications including examination papers.

N-1-14 University Grants Committee

This group of archives contains material created by the University Grants Committee (UGC). It includes minutes of some UGC meetings, some annual reports of UGC subcommittees such as the Research Committee, Curriculum Committee and a few ad hoc committees.

N-1-15 New Zealand Vice-Chancellors' Committee

This group of archives contains material created by Universities New Zealand. The material held includes minutes of some NZVCC meetings, some annual reports of NZVCC subcommittees and NZVCC produced publications and reports, including the Graduate Destinations series.

N-1-16 New Zealand Army Education Welfare Service

This group of archives contains material created by Army Education Welfare Service, which regularly published booklets and handbooks on a wide range of topics, from agriculture to trades and general topics.

N-1-17 New Zealand Dairy Research Institute

This group of archives contains material created by the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute (DRI), including reports and publications.

N-1-20 New Zealand Genetical Society

This group of archives contains material created by the New Zealand Genetical Society including its newsletter.

N-1-21 MacDiarmid Institute

This group of archives contains material created by the MacDiarmid Institute, including its magazine.

N-1-23 Federation des Alliances Françaises de Nouvelle-Zélande
Incorporated

This group of archives contains records created by the Federation des Alliances Françaises de Nouvelle-Zélande Incorporated. It includes financial and other records, annual files, minutes and a file containing letters of appreciation and cuttings.

N-2 – Individuals

This inventory contains a list of donations to Massey University Archives by individuals. They have all had an association with Massey as members of council, staff, students or those closely involved with life at Massey University in any other manner. Also collected and listed here are records of individuals that have contributed significantly to New Zealand society in one of the many areas focused on by Massey University teaching and/or research.

N-3 – Collections

This inventory lists materials relating to a variety of collections that are owned by Massey University. It includes art, family collections, committee documents, objects, publications, interviews, the Dairy Records Archive, and student course/lecture notes.
