Graduation is a celebration of achievement
Graduation marks the end of a long period of extensive learning and is a celebration of your dedication, achievement and effort at one of New Zealand's leading universities.
You can choose to graduate:
- In person - have your scroll presented to you in person at a graduation ceremony.
Or
- In absentia - graduate through an Academic Board Meeting / Council Meeting without attending. Your scroll will be sent to you. Please note that if you graduate by this method you will not be able to attend a ceremony for the qualification at a later date.
Māori and Pasifika graduates:
- Graduates who have chosen to graduate through the April or May ceremonies and are of Māori descent have the option to celebrate their graduation at the Ceremony to Honour Māori Graduates in addition to attending/graduating at the main graduation ceremony. If you only wish to attend the Ceremony to Honour Māori Graduates you will graduate in absentia, through the main ceremony and your scroll will be given to you at the Ceremony to Honour Māori Graduates.
- Graduates who have chosen to graduate through the April or May ceremonies and are of Pasifika descent have the option to celebrate their graduation at the Ceremony to Honour Pasifika Graduates in addition to attending/graduating at the main graduation ceremony. If you only wish to attend the Ceremony to Honour Pasifika Graduates you will graduate in absentia, through the main ceremony and your scroll will be given to you at the Ceremony to Honour Pasifika Graduates.
