Sports teaching and research


Programme and paper teaching and research - New Zealand

Sport and exercise programmes are delivered through a broad-based, multi-college, multiple-mode approach at Albany, Manawatu and Wellington which enables students to study as an internal or extramural student, or through mixed-mode studies.

Massey University Academy of Sport


Academy of Sport, New Zealand

Massey University Academy of Sport is the Sports Scholarship Programme for developing athletes studying at the University. The Academy provides key support services that cater to each members individual needs.

Sports recreation and training


Massey Recreation Centre - Wellington, New Zealand
The University’s sport and recreation facilities are available on the three campuses in Albany, Manawatu and Wellington. These facilities are available to students, staff and local communities to meet a range of recreational and sporting needs.

Specialised sport facilities


Equestrian Centre - Palmerston North, New Zealand

Our world-class sports facilities are available to staff, students and local communities, and include an all-weather equine arena, an all-weather athletics track, as well as the Sport and Rugby Institute’s three floodlit rugby fields and training areas.

Sport Science laboratories


Human Nutrition Laboratory - Palmerston North, New Zealand

Our Sports Science laboratories are mostly accredited by local and international bodies, and are well equipped to offer biomechanical and physiological analysis for a wide range of sports, nutrition consultancy services, and sports performance evaluation.

Massey Blues Awards


Massey Blues Awards
The New Zealand Universities Blues Award is the highest sporting accolade given in the New Zealand tertiary system. Massey University Blues Awards are presented to students in recognition of their outstanding achievements in sport and academic studies.
