ERAU's degree programs represent the most comprehensive collection of aviation and aerospace-focused majors being taught anywhere today. The curriculum covers the operation, engineering, research, manufacturing, marketing, and management of modern aircraft and the systems that support them.  Each college on campus employs a variety of high-tech labs, simulators, modern classrooms and specialized software to conduct research and support student studies.  

ERAU has over 5,100 students from 50 states and 100 countries.  Internationals make up 15 percent of the student body.  More than 150 student organizations are available, including academic and professional groups, sports and leisure clubs, organizations devoted to aviation and aerospace and ethnic and cultural groups.

Daytona Beach, Florida is the home of NASCAR's Daytona 500 auto race. The campus is one hour from Orlando, Kennedy Space Center and the historic city of St. Augustine.

Credit system

Students should take 15 semester credits. This should equate to 60 Massey credits.

Courses

You can find the courses offered by the College of Aviation by clicking on the degrees listed in the menu on the left side of the page. Each course link will provide you with a description and list of prerequisites.

Exchange students cannot take courses that involve flight components. You are welcome to take aviation courses that do not have a flight component.

Course codes

Courses numbered 100-299 at ERAU equate to 100-level at Massey. 300-499 courses equate to 200 or 300-level courses at Massey.

Academic calendar

The Fall semester begins in August and ends in December. The Spring semester begins in January and ends in May.

Accommodation

ERAU has seven residence halls and one off-campus housing complex. Housing and Residence Life staffers strive to support a positive living and learning environment, and the Resident Student Association plans trips to local sporting events and other fun spots, as well as events like cookouts.

Health insurance

Adequate health insurance is required by law for all exchange students going to the USA. Travel insurance alone will not provide the appropriate coverage. Health insurance plans in the USA are typically more expensive than plans in New Zealand.

Be sure you check the university’s insurance requirements and enrol in the appropriate plan.

Visas

You will need to have a J-1 exchange visitor visa to enter the U.S. You cannot study full-time at the university on either a B-2 tourist visa or the visa waiver program.
