Arjun says he was attracted to enrol in the Bachelor of Aviation – Air Transport Pilot programme as he recognised that Massey University was the “only reputable university in the southern Hemisphere that offers a Bachelor’s program with the opportunity to obtain all the different types of licences( PPL, CPL, ATPL( Frozen)”.

Arjun feels that the high reputation of Massey University is well recognised by international aviation industry. Companies in the aviation industry have a very good impression of Massey University and know that its training surpasses the industry standards.

In addition he was attracted New Zealand’s natural beauty and rich culture. He enjoyed the fact that he got to experience many different climatic environments during his training flights - all in the same country!

His flying lessons took him to many different types of terrain and climatic conditions that included the humid temperatures of Auckland, the spectacular Desert Road, to the compact and hilly capital city of New Zealand, Wellington, as well as to the beautiful coastal province of Nelson and then further on throughout the South Island.- “So many different micro - climates in one country.” he said. Arjun said he was also attracted by the emphasis on aviation safety throughout the New Zealand aviation industry – both general aviation and in the flight training sphere. This is something that is held in high regard by international airlines.

Massey’s School of Aviation is located on the Palmerston North campus and Arjun said that the city is one that is both safe and conducive for students to study.

Finally Arjun says that “Massey University Flight Instructors are very approachable and are always willing to teach you or help you grow to become a better pilot and better person.” Arjun’s studies now complete he has now returned to Singapore to pursue opportunities in Asia as a newly qualified pilot.
