Massey Business School learning is very focused on giving our students experience that will help them in their future careers. So we offer an internship paper (115.388 Internship in Business). We link you, the student, with a business, where you will get the opportunity to get work experience while you are studying. It's a great way of seeing how you can apply your studies and gaining contacts which will help you in your career.
Internships are offered as part of the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Accountancy, Bachelor of Communication and the Bachelor of AgriCommerce (including conjoint students) in your final year. Students from other disciplines with an interest in work in the HR/Management area may also be accepted, following consultation with the course coordinators. You must have gained a B average across the study in your degree.
You do need to apply to the Head of School for the discipline you are studying to take part in this paper.
Once you are introduced to the business and you and the business are both happy with the placement, you will enter discussions with the placement company in order to develop a project within the organisation. Your academic grade will be based on an assessment of your role in the organisation and your work on this project for their academic grade.
It is offered each year on both the Albany and Manawatu campuses.
Find out more about the interview process and time commitment expected on the paper pages below:
