The Human Nutrition and Dietetics Division has a range of facilities available for study and research. They enable quantification of the components in the bodies of test subjects.
We offer body composition analysis via Bodpod or DXA. If you're ensure which method is for you feel free to contact us here
For a first time user the standard price for either method is $100. For any subsequent visits, the price is $80. Alternatively, view the clinic dates for a cheaper price. Corporate rates and group packages also available - contact us here
Each quarter the Albany campus hosts a body composition clinic for use of both the DXA and the Bodpod for body composition analysis.
At the clinic the price for either method is $60. Each appointment is 30 minutes in duration and includes a full results interpretation.

The DXA (dual energy x-ray absorptiometry) machines quantify the mineral content of bones structures, as well as fat and non-bone body mass.
Massey University has the only two air-displacement plethysmography units (BodPods) in New Zealand. They calculate fat and lean muscle mass.
The Human Nutrition and Dietetics Division has joint facilities for teaching and research that span multiple disciplines within the field. Many of the laboratories, equipment and assays are IANZ-accredited.
