Title of PhD Research:
Collaborating to develop: A perspective on contemporary Chinese social partnership.
PhD Research Keywords:
Cross sector partnership
Corporate social responsibility
Short Description of Research Topic:
Since the formation of the new government in 1949, Chinese society has changed dramatically. Rapid economic growth has exposed a number of concerns caused by its aftermath, including environmental issues and social issues. With the impact of globalisation and changing environment conditions in China, practitioners have begun to form ‘social alliances’ to address some of the arising concerns. This research examines selected social alliances between businesses and environmental non-profit organisations from the Chinese mainland and evaluates key success factors for firms involved in a sustainable development oriented corporate social responsibility (CSR) value creation process.
