This study primarily explored the reasons behind the current CSR and sustainability practices adopted by Bangladeshi export-oriented apparel SME suppliers and how they embed synergistic sustainability into their core business decisions as globally responsible local entities."

Minh Nguyen

Minh Nguyen is a PhD student in the School of Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), an MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling (UK) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Portsmouth (UK).

His PhD thesis aims to theoretically and empirically understand corporate social responsibility in SMEs in developing countries through an exploration of the underlying assumptions and reasons for the CSR engagement among SMEs in Vietnam. This study contributes to CSR literature by exploring the dynamic interaction between the individual agency of owner-managers and institutional pressures regarding CSR and highlighting the interplay between the economic and non-economic motivations that underlie CSR.

Her research Topic: The impact of digital transformation on social responsibility in platform enterprises: a textual analysis

Platform enterprises are changing our business world, and their CSR deserves more attention. In the context of digital transformation, the new characteristics of platform enterprises' CSR and the mechanisms through which digital transformation affects their CSR performance have attracted wide attention. This study aims to combine perspectives from management and linguistics to explore the effects of digital transformation on social responsibility in platform enterprises from the aspect of textual evidence. It will also examine the mechanisms through which digital transformation impacts the fulfilment of social responsibility in platform enterprises, using a large volume of textual data.
