Mr Liu’s research focused on factors that influence the choice of location for foreign direct investment at the regional level in China. His research identified a series of these factors, including the firm’s capability, location factors from the host region, strategic motivation, and internalisation factors. A key contribution of Mr Liu’s research is the development of a conceptual framework to help firms select appropriate investment locations.
