The COVID-19 pandemic has meant changes to how exams and assessments work. For the latest information and FAQs go to COVID-19 coronavirus - information for the Massey University community.

Exams for Semester 2 will be 'Time Constrained Assessments', 'Online Supervised Examinations' or 'Other Assessments'. Your personalised timetable in the Student Portal will show the type of exam you will have.

  • Time Constrained Assessments and Assignments are exam-like but unsupervised assessments that you complete on Stream, and for which you have a time limit once you start.

  • Online Supervised Exams are supervised exams that you access through Stream, starting at a set time and completing within a time limit. In general, only courses that have exams worth more than 60% of the overall grade will have Online Supervised Exams. The exception to this are courses where student’s assessments are required for professional and external accreditation purposes.
  • Other Assessments are exams for a limited number of vet, aviation and other science courses. Under this arrangement, it is intended—subject to COVID-19 alert levels—that you will take the exam in-person at a location supervised by your school.

Make sure you keep the exam period (weeks) free until your timetable is available so you can attend your exam when scheduled. The exam period for Semester 2 is 27 October to 9 November.

Please check the date and start time for your exams by logging into the portal and clicking on the 'Results and exams tab'. Please note: The date and start time of your exam will not change. You should check your course Stream site close to the time of your assessment for the specific duration of your assessment.
