Thesis Title
Switched reluctance generator drive in the low and medium speed operation: Modelling and analysis

A variable speed machine is required to generate energy from wind. Ms Mohd Shaidi Arifin developed a simulation platform for the switched reluctance generator (SRG) drive operating in the low and medium speed operation.  She performed an extensive and in depth comparative analysis to optimise the generation stage of the machine.  The research has demonstrated that the optimal performance of the machine in terms of the generation ratio is determined based on the overall performance of the SRG system.  The platform will be useful to aid in the development of the SRG in wind energy application.
