From analysing processing problems to testing solutions and even generating products ready for you to export, we provide world-leading facilities and expertise on-site.

Microbrewery
At the Manawatu campus we have a research microbrewery for teaching, research, and industry hire.

Food Characterisation Laboratory
The Food Characterisation Laboratory employs state-of-the-art techniques to support product development and quality assessment in the food industry.

Food Chemistry Laboratory
The Food Chemistry Laboratory is a general laboratory used for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Food Microbiology Laboratory
The laboratory is capable of all the standard microbiological tests required by the food industry and has specialist equipment for rapid microbial analysis.

Product Development Laboratories
The Product Development Laboratories contain facilities for first-stage product development, and students use them extensively.

Food Engineering Laboratory
The Food Engineering Laboratory has a range of engineering and food processing equipment for process engineering laboratory classes and for students and staff to access for research, product development and commercial projects.

Food Product Development Laboratory
The Product Development Laboratories contain facilities for first-stage product development, and students use them extensively.

Sensory Evaluation Laboratory
The Sensory Evaluation facility is fully equipped with sensory booths located next to the product development laboratory.  The sensory booths have computers and sensory software (FIZZ).

Microbiology, Physiology and Physiochemical Laboratories
These laboratories provide support for teaching, research and consultancy at Massey University.  The Microbiology Laboratory is capable of all the standard microbiological tests required by the food industry.
