You need to nominate a qualification when you enrol, but you can easily change your choice later.
There are three ways to gain a 120 credit Master degree:
Complete five 15-credit taught courses of your choice plus a 45 credit capstone course (118.851 research report – literature review)
Complete five 15-credit taught courses of your choice plus a 45 credit capstone course (118.853 practicum in advanced professional practice)
Complete four 15-credit taught courses of your choice plus a 60 credit capstone course (118.852 research project and report)
To enrol in the Master’s degree, you need to have received at least a B average in your primary veterinary degree or two previous MVM courses.
You also need to meet the entry requirements of the wider MVM programme, which are all straightforward.
NB: From 2016 completions must follow the regulations as outlined in Introduction to the MVM capstone courses (253 KB)
Please contact the MVM office for more information regarding capstone courses. Please note research projects and practicum placements require prior approval by the Director of the MVM.
To gain the PGDipVSc, complete eight taught 15-credit courses of your choice.
Read about the endorsement offered for the PGDipVSc.
To gain the PGCertSc, complete four taught courses of your choice.
You can enrol in a Certificate of Proficiency if you want to do a single course. You can put the course towards another qualification later.
You must complete at least two 15 credit taught courses from the 118.7xx series (previously numbered 195.7xx) before you can enrol in either 118.851, 118.852 or 118.853.
