Terence is the current coordinator of the post masters Post Graduate Diploma in Educational and Developmental Psychology ('internship'). He lays claim to being the proud product of Massey University, having completed his undergraduate, graduate, and professional training here since first enrolling in 1995. With over 15 years experience as an Educational Psychologist and interdisciplinary team leader he makes significant contributions for praxis and development in the area of educational and developmental psychology.
He is currently working on the conceptualisation of his PhD which will investigate teacher decision making informing referrals to external agencies and pragmatic problem solving in school contexts.
Areas of interest include: assessment and intervention for behavioural disorders and behaviour problems | training and development for educational psychologists | school wide behaviour systems development and implementation | inter and transdiciplinary practice/teaming | interagency collaboration | inclusive education | positive psychology | teaming & group dynamics | collaboration & consultation | professional integrity | ethical professional behaviour | motivation
I have a particular interest in systems of support available to learners who present with challenging behaviour with a particular interest on integrating individual, class level, school wide, and community level supports. Similarly promoting and enhancing inter-agency collaboration is an equal area of interest with regard to the more complex situations to ensure student/learner presence, participation, and learning.
