The Albert and Alexis Dennis Donation is used to assist distance students, male or female, aged 65 years or older, in the payment of fees, books, contact workshops/block courses, examination expenses and other incidental expenses incurred in their distance studies
Value and tenure
The amount of each bursary depends on the funds available each year but in recent years has been $1,500.

One bursary is typically made each year
Applicants must be:
enrolled via distance in all courses taken in the year of application
65 years of age or older at the time of application.
The selection will be based on:
the academic costs to be incurred by the student in the year of application
a brief supporting statement
Preference may be given to candidates who have a disability. Such candidates should supply a supporting statement from a registered health professional.
The bursary is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee
Conditions of the bursary
The bursary may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure
