This scholarship is funded from an endowment to Massey University by the late George Henry Dear. George grew up on a family farm in Rongotea which had been in the family for three generations. George’s grandparents were immigrants from Bedfordshire, England and were among the first settlers in the Rongotea district.

We're looking for a first year student residing in the Manawatū district.

What you'll be studying

This is an undergraduate scholarship, you will be entering the first year of a degree related to agriculture, horticulture, or animal science.

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • a copy of your High School results or transcripts for any study completed prior to entering Massey University
  • a one page statement on your intended career and industry ambitions

Selection considerations

When considering your application we will look at your academic merit and achievements. We will also consider your career intentions and industry ambitions. In selecting a recipient, preference will be given to students who studied at Feilding High School.
