McConnell Elton Foundation Bursary

The McConnell Elton Foundation is a registered charity committed to financially assisting and improving the welfare of veterinary students in New Zealand. Their vision is a New Zealand veterinary community that supports, values and promotes veterinary students for the benefit of individuals and the veterinary profession as a whole. After two years of full-time employment, you will be encouraged to donate back to the charity to help another final-year student. This will help grow the number of students who can be helped annually.

We're looking for fourth and fifth year students facing financial hardship.

This is an undergraduate bursary. You will be enrolled in a degree with a focus on veterinary science.

When choosing our recipients, we will primarily consider your financial need. We may also consider your academic achievements, extracurricular activities and other scholarships or bursaries you hold.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be studying in a specific subject area
  • be in the fourth or final year of your degree
  • be open to making future contributions to the fund.

Application checklist

Please include the following with your application:

  • a supporting statement (500 words or less) that includes a description of your financial circumstances and any other relevant information. The supporting statement could also include details of your academic achievements and extracurricular activities
  • your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
