These scholarships are funded by the building Research Levy through BRANZ. BRANZ is an independent research organisation that uses an impartial evidence-based approach to improving the performance of the New Zealand building system. Since 1970, BRANZ has been transforming insightful research into trusted, accessible, and actionable knowledge.

What you'll be studying

These are postgraduate scholarships. You will be studying one of Massey University's master's degrees.

Eligibility criteria

We're looking for applicants who are undertaking research at the master's level which contributes to the construction industry’s goal to transition to zero carbon in topics outlined below under conditions. Your master's project will be 45 credits or more.

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • your CV
  • a personal statement outlining relevant industry experience to carry out a project in zero carbon in construction (max. 1 page); or
  • a personal statement outlining how the importance of zero carbon research relates to the applicants’ future goals, including an intention to work in construction industry related jobs, attend workshops and seminars, and produce publications (max. 1 page).

Selection considerations

When choosing our recipients, we will consider your CV and either your relevant industry experience, or your statement regarding your future intentions.

Priority will be given to students already working in zero carbon building design or construction or intend to work in the future industry.
