Nottingham Trent University has been awarded the title of the “most environmentally friendly university”. NTU has a student population of approximately 25,000 with around 2,000 being international students. NTU is the third-largest university in the United Kingdom for the number of students studying art and design.

Dating back to 1843, NTU has a rich history with links to bicycle, tobacco and lace making industries. NTU is located in central England and has great transport facilities with easy road, rail and air access.

NTU received a Gold rating through the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework, the Queens Anniversary Prize for our Research, the Times Higher Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology, and the Best UK University for International Students in the What Uni Student Choice Awards.

Credit system

Students on exchange to NTU enrol in the relevant programme for the appropriate semester.  A full time workload is 60 credits per semester.

Academic calendar

The Autumn semester runs October to February.  Spring runs February to June.

Accommodation

NTU will assist in organising accommodation either on or off campus. Accommodation is guaranteed as long as you meet the application deadlines.

Courses

All NTU subjects are available to Massey exchange students.  All of your studies must be from within one programme.  Exchange students are unable to study from multiple programmes.  You will need to submit a portfolio of your work as part of your application to NTU if you wish to study within the College of Art & Design and the Built Environment.
