Te Kura Rererangi School of Aviation awards Pilot Brevets, or ‘Wings’, to students who have completed a programme of academic and practicum study at the end of two years of professional pilot training in the Bachelor of Aviation Air Transport Pilot (ATP) programme.
Massey School of Aviation alumnus, Sam Henderson presented the students with their Wings. Sam graduated in the Massey 52 cohort and is currently flying the Airbus A330 aircraft with Qantas Airlines having previously flown the Airbus A320 and the Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft for Jetstar Airways.
Twelve special awards, donated by various benefactors of the School of Aviation, were also presented to Wings recipients.
School of Aviation CEO Ashok Poduval says the professional pilot training within the Bachelor of Aviation (ATP) Air Transport Pilot programme is demanding and these students have demonstrated the passion, motivation and self-discipline required to become professional aviators.
