Massey University Gym is fully supervised, with trainers always there to give you a hand. When you sign up, you'll get access to great equipment, programmes and services, including:

  • 12 free personal training sessions as part of our ‘How to Gym’ programme
  • Group Training classes
  • Yoga classes
  • Cardio equipment: stair machines, rowers, assault bikes, treadmills and bikes
  • Strength training equipment: cable machines, squat racks, bench presses, 1kg – 55kg dumbbells

Our Group Training classes help you meet your gym goals

Our Group Training coaches will work with you at your fitness level, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gym athlete. We will help you build confidence and skills across a range of movements, and work with you to pursue your fitness goals.

Classes built around specific daily workout goals

Our 40-minute group training workouts give you a complete fitness experience across the week. Each week starts with legs and low-impact cardio, transitions through to core workouts, and finishes with your upper body and some high-intensity interval training.

Weekday class times: 8 am, 12 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm.

How to Gym - 12 free personal training sessions

If you are new to working out in a gym, we offer 12 free sessions with our trainers as part of our ‘How to Gym’ programme. Each 30-minute session builds upon the previous, and our trainers will help you develop some quality movement habits.

By the end of your 12 sessions, you will be able to use 95% of our equipment safely and be more confident in the gym.

Yoga for all levels

Our weekly classes are great for beginners. You can learn the basics of yoga by attending the first two classes of each calendar month. During the month, yoga classes gradually become more physical and technical as your ability and confidence grow.

Mats, blocks and yoga straps are provided at no additional cost.

We are one of the most welcoming places to try yoga in Wellington.
