Massey University has appointed Damian Lodge to the role of dean, academic, following the departure of Professor Sarah Leberman to take up the role of Professor Leadership within the Massey Business School.

Massey University has appointed Damian Lodge to the role of dean, academic, following the departure of Professor Sarah Leberman to take up the role of Professor of Leadership within the Massey Business School.

Currently the director of library, teaching and learning and chair of the Learning and Teaching Subcommittee of Academic Board at Lincoln University, Mr Lodge has held roles in universities across New Zealand and Australia for the past 25 years. During his time at Lincoln University he has implemented initiatives around blended learning, student evaluations, learning analytics, student retention and improving academic quality. 

Prior to his current role, he was the director of the Centre for Information Studies at Charles Sturt University in Australia where he managed large online distance education programmes and taught in the areas of information science and leadership. 

Mr Lodge will be based on the Manawatū campus and report to Provost Professor Giselle Byrnes. He commences in the role on November 19.
