How do I register for self-service password reset?

Massey staff and enrolled students may register their network accounts for self-service password reset.

  • On your web browser, go to the Massey self-service password reset setup portal:
  • Log in using your Massey user ID in the following format:
    • Staff: / e.g.
    • Student: / e.g.
  • You will be presented with the authentication methods available for you to setup.
    • Authentication phone: Set this option to another phone number that you have access to. An example is a mobile phone that can receive a text or a call. To work properly, phone numbers must be in the format +CountryCode PhoneNumber, for example, +64 224255512. There needs to be a space between the country code and the phone number. Password reset does not support phone extensions.
    • Authentication email: Set this option to an alternate email address that you can access without using the password you want to reset. We recommend using a non-Massey email account. For example:
    • Security questions: Select from a list of questions to answer. You can't use the same question or answer more than once.
    • Mobile app: Download the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app to receive a verification code for authentication. The mobile app is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
  • Provide the information required for one or more authentication method. We suggest that you register multiple methods. This gives you flexibility when one of the methods isn't available. An example is when you're traveling and you're unable to access your office phone.

  • Click finish. You can now use SSPR when you need to in the future.
