Facilities and bookings

Discover the facilities on offer at Massey's Sport and Recreation Centre on the Manawatū campus.

We're committed to providing exceptional sport and leisure facilities, whether you’re interested in team sports, group fitness, individual training, or recreation.

Work towards your training goals in our fitness centre or join a group class with Les Mills. If you prefer to train alone, consider booking a room for single-use through reception. Our courts, fields and indoor training spaces are available for teams and social sports.

You can use our facilities if you are a member of the Massey Sport and Recreation Centre, a casual user, or a 20-entry pass holder. Our facilities are also available to non-members for hire as an event venue.

In addition to our own facilities, our partnership with the Sport and Event Centre and Hockey Manawatū allows you to take advantage of top-of-the-line training facilities and turf.

Students use weights, treadmills and crossfit machines in the fitness centre.

Fitness Centre (gym)

Members of the Massey Sport and Recreation Centre, casual users, and day-pass or limited-entry pass holders can access our Fitness Centre at any time during opening hours.

The Fitness Centre is open-plan, and includes all the cardio and weight-training equipment you need to work towards your training goals; including treadmills, exercise bikes, and free weights.

This facility cannot be reserved.

RPM room

Our dedicated spin class room contains 24 bikes, including 6 bikes which can track your metrics for:

  • power
  • distance
  • speed
  • calories burned.

The room is used for Les Mills RPM classes and can also be used by members outside class times.

You can book the RPM room for private sessions, with or without an instructor, or request single-person use at reception.

Please call reception on +64 6 350 5080 to make a booking.
