Read the proposed Curriculum Framework and let us know what you think.

Earlier in the year, the Provost, Professor Giselle Byrnes released a Curriculum Transformation Discussion Paper for feedback. The purpose of this document was to establish a core set of principles, approaches and design elements to underpin all programme (qualification) development at Massey. It aimed to provide guidance to those who do this work, clarifying what is distinctive about the Massey approach, and establishing a pathway to achieving our ambitions for the future.

Over 160 staff and more than 500 students provided feedback on the Curriculum Transformation Discussion Document. Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive contributions to this discussion.

All feedback has now informed a new document, the draft Massey University Curriculum Framework. The Curriculum Framework is the next iteration in this development process as we work towards transformational change.

Placing student learning needs at the centre, this Framework represents a more nuanced, staged and systematic approach to building on and extending the areas of excellence that exist across our university so that all areas of our learning and teaching provision are consistently high-quality.

It also acknowledges the necessary differences that exist between disciplines and the need for ongoing financial sustainability, and the Framework focusses on the work that needs to be done to ensure the continuous improvement of our academic offer.

The Curriculum Framework aims to provide a means of acknowledging the different world views that make up our university and provide a means of establishing the principles and processes for ongoing cycles of evaluation and development of our curriculum.
