The late Grace Edith Meliora Kay established this undergraduate scholarship in memory of her late husband, Allan Kay.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for students who want to enter careers in agriculture or horticulture in New Zealand. Ideally, you will want to pursue a career in research.

What you'll be studying

These are undergraduate scholarships. You will study a degree with a focus on agriculture or horticulture. Your courses will mainly have these prefixes: 112, 117, 119, 189, 283, 284 and 285.

Eligibility criteria

You must be:

  • an enrolled Massey University student
  • a New Zealand-born resident
  • under 30 years old
  • studying full-time.

Include the following with your application:

  • a personal statement. This should outline your future career intentions as well as your current financial need and how this scholarship would help you
  • for 1st Year students, a copy of your High School results. For NCEA, go to the NZQA web page and on the My School Entries and Results page, click the 'view as pdf' (button on the right-hand side) to save this document
  • a copy of your Massey University transcripts/current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.
