Elizabeth A Cooper, who was severely disabled by polio in her childhood, was a significant leader in the disability rights movement. She was one of the founders of the Disabled Persons Assembly Palmerston North and was a staunch advocate in supporting people with disabilities. Elizabeth passed away in 2001, this grant was established by Massey University in her memory.

Eligibility criteria

You will be enrolled full time or part time in an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at Massey University in the year of the award. You must be registered with the Massey University Disability Services.

If you wish to provide this statement through a different format (i.e. short video) you can email this to scholarships@massey.ac.nz and we will include it for the panel’s consideration.

When selecting our recipients we will consider how you would benefit from the grant and how it would help remove barriers to learning.
Preference will be given to students who face additional support costs related to studies due to their disability.
