The Humanities and Social Sciences Master’s Step-Up Scholarship supports students entering postgraduate study for the first time, assisting in removing barriers to upskill.

This is a postgraduate scholarship. You will be enrolling for the first time in one of the following qualifications:

  • Master of Creative Writing
  • Master of Education and Developmental Psychology
  • Master of Education
  • Master of Emergency Management
  • Master of International Development
  • Master of International Security
  • Master of Māori Studies
  • Master of Māori Visual Arts
  • Master of Resource and Environmental Planning
  • Master of Specialist Teaching
  • Master of Speech and Language Therapy
  • Master of Sustainable Development Goals

Eligibility criteria

You will be:

  • a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • enrolling for the first time in a master’s degree in semester one (February), 2026
  • intending to enrol, full time or part time, in a master’s degree within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Massey University (eligible qualifications are listed under the Conditions)
