Renewable electricity is key to reaching New Zealand’s goals of decarbonising our economy and addressing climate change. Mercury generates electricity from 100% renewable wind, hydro and geothermal sources. We currently generate electricity on the hillsides of the Manawatū (wind), along the Waikato River (hydro) and nearby steamfields of the northern part of the Central Plateau (geothermal). We reap the wind in other parts of New Zealand too (Northland, Taranaki, Otago and Southland).
