The New Zealand Institute of Management Foundation was established to provide financial assistance to individuals, to assist them to undertake courses of study relating to management and leadership. More particularly, where individuals did not have an opportunity to be supported by their employer for professional development in the areas relating to management and leadership. Funding for the Trust and this Scholarship has been provided by the Founding Members and Friends of the Foundation, as well as members of NZIM.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a postgraduate student studying leadership and/or management, preferably concurrently employed in a managerial position
What you'll be studying
These are postgraduate scholarships. You will want to or be studying towards a qualification with a focus on leadership or management.
Eligibility criteria
You must:
- be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- be studying a specific subject
- have a grade point average as outlined in this award's regulations
- demonstrate previous successful management and leadership experience at the early/junior to middle-management levels
- desire to move up to senior-management level
Application checklist
Include the following with your application:
- a personal statement demonstrating your previous successful management and leadership experience at the early/junior to middle-management level
- a statement on your desire to move on to a more senior level utilising the scholarship and successful completion of your postgraduate qualification
- current CV
- a covering letter explaining the specific objectives with respect to the scholarship and your future career path. The covering letter should include why the you are interested in the NZIMF Scholarship and why you are in need of funding assistance
- a written reference from a current or past employer
- a written reference from a professional peer group member
Selection considerations
When choosing our recipients, we will consider your academic achievements. We will also consider your professional experience and future career plans. Preference may be given to New Zealand citizens. Over time, the recipients of this award will represent a balance of diversity, ethnicity, gender and geography.
